Abstract

This research is motivated by student learning outcomes which are still low, this is because the learning process carried out has not been optimal, as seen in the application of the model by the teacher, making students' interest and motivation lacking, so that students' understanding of the material is also low. This research aims to determine the application of the model. Group Investigation learning assisted by Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) on Biology Learning Outcomes of Padang State High School 4 Phase E Students. This type of research is experimental research with a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design research design. The population in this study were all Phase E students of SMA Negeri 4 Padang in the even semester who were registered in the 2023/2024 academic year in 10 classes. The sample in this study consisted of 2 classes, with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The formative assessment research instruments are the Digital Mind Map assessment and the summative assessment in the form of multiple choices. The data analysis technique uses hypothesis testing (t-test). The research results based on the t-test in the formative assessment of the experimental class were higher than the control class, but Ho was accepted. The summative assessment results of the experimental class were higher than the control class, but Ho was accepted. So it can be concluded that the Group Investigation learning model assisted by Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) has no effect on learning outcomes in the formative assessment and summative assessment of students at SMA Negeri 4 Padang Phase E for the 2023/2024 academic year.
